Working Of Radio Induction And Jamming System
Disrupting Radio Frequency (RF) Communication
Drones primarily use RF signals in the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands for communication between the drone and its remote controller. These frequencies are used for both control signals (such as throttle, yaw, pitch, roll, and camera feed) and video transmission. Drone signal jammers emit strong RF signals on these same frequencies, effectively overpowering or blocking the legitimate communication signals between the drone and its operator.
Result: The drone loses connection with its operator, causing it to hover in place, crash, or follow an autonomous return-to-home procedure if it has such capabilities.
Blocking GPS Signals
In addition to RF signals, drones rely on GPS for navigation, especially in autonomous flights. GPS jamming involves emitting signals on the same frequency as GPS satellites, which typically operate at 1.575 GHz (L1) and 1.227 GHz (L2). The jammer effectively disrupts the GPS signal reception, causing the drone to lose its location information.
Result: The drone becomes disoriented, unable to determine its position. Depending on the drone’s software and hardware, it may initiate an emergency return-to-home (RTH) procedure or descend to the ground.
