Astral Route has unveiled its latest Micro Aluminum Hydride Fuel Cell, targeting lightweight civil energy applications such as remote sensors, IoT infrastructure, portable communication devices, and emergency kits.
The micro aluminum hydride fuel cell utilizes controlled hydrolysis of aluminum hydride compounds to release hydrogen on demand. The hydrogen is immediately fed into a high-efficiency PEM fuel cell stack, eliminating the need for external high-pressure hydrogen storage.
Technical Highlights:
Hydrogen generation efficiency >95%
Gravimetric energy density significantly exceeding lithium batteries
On-demand hydrogen production
Zero carbon emission during operation
Compact modular architecture (<3kg systems available)
Civil use cases include:
Border monitoring stations
Remote environmental monitoring
Smart agriculture sensors
Portable medical refrigeration
Astral Route's system integrates advanced hydrogen flow regulation and thermal management, ensuring safe operation under variable environmental conditions.
The micro aluminum hydride fuel cell represents a breakthrough in solid-state hydrogen generation for civil markets, enabling compact, long-duration off-grid power without complex infrastructure.
